Migrating old usernames to LDAP

Hi! We are planning to migrate from our old servers (7.1) to 8.5 and we
want to use our existing LDAP server which we use for email and Instant
Messaging. We want to change our existing Meeting Maker account names to
the ones in our LDAP server so our users have the same email/IM/MM name
and password.

Has anyone tried to do this?

Thanks,
Jack Schmidt

Jack:

We have a June-July schedule to do the same. Right now we are running 8.5
in test-mode. Then will migrate 7.x data, then go LDAP.

Our 8.5 server on Solaris looks roboust with one issue - we cannot shut it
down. The script shuts down onmuxd but nor mm. MM knows about the issue.

On the good side it has been up ever since install.

For the web component we are using a pair of load-balanced Tomcat 5.57
servers.

That's interesting. How do you go about balancing the load?

Poor-man's load balancer is to use a DNS round-robin. It even works very
well, especially for those middle-tier web applications that have no
specific state data on them.
