Discussion:
OSX 10.4 and MM 7.5.3

A recent anomaly has crept up in one or two of the Mac computers on campus.
It seems one person in particular is having a severe problem with getting
the application to recognize the server. It only works about 25% of the time
on first launch of the application. If it is closed and re-opened it will
work 75% of the time but still occasionally not find the MM server. We have
tried re-imaging the machine, reinstallation, hard-coding DNS and MM server
info; but to no avail. One of our network technicians also has experienced
this problem but not frequently or less than 5-10% of the time.

Is there any version conflict between OSX 10.4+ (Tiger) and MM 7.5 that
anyone knows or has experienced? I have been searching the KB but have not
come across something that has solved this issue. A few of their suggestions
were tried but did not seem to help.

If anyone has had similar problems or has found a fix of sorts it would be
much appreciated to learn for future problems. We are moving forward with an
upgrade to 8.5+ but that will be another month or two down the line.

We had that problem a lot once we upgraded a few of of our users to
10.4.x while using MM 7.5.3. We wound up shifting those users to
using the MM web client until we could get upgraded to 8.5.x.

If the user is running NAV as well you may be running in to this issue:

You may want to check this one as well, as the symptoms are similar:
